Ebola Virus Outbreak Killed More Than 2,231 People In Congo- Monitoring Agency Reports

Health monitoring agencies have reported approximately 3373 cases of Ebola in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DR Congo) and causalities exceeding 2231 people. Ebola virus is a rare virus but it can cause death. The latest Ebola virus outbreak was seen in the eastern areas of North Kivu and Ituri of the Democratic Republic of Congo. If anyone visits these areas, he can also be a case of Ebola if he comes in contact with the blood or body fluids of the infected person.

This new outbreak erupted about a year ago. Both of these states are a hub to Ebola for the last two decades. Not just the local residents but Ebola health workers are also at high risk. The healthcare teams were attacked by the opposition groups and many people are killed every year.

Multisectoral Committee for Epidemic Response (CMRE) monitors the most recent revealed diseases. The health authorities have found 341 cases of Ebola. In west Africa, more than 11,300 civilians were killed when Ebola was burst there from 2014 to 2016.

Ebola virus is the cause of body aches, fever, bleeding from inside and outside of the body, diarrhea and even death. The immune system and many organs of a body are also affected by Ebola. The bleeding caused by Ebola is very severe and uncontrollable.

Cases of Ebola are getting more and more in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo and even only in four days, 23 new cases of Ebola were found. The World Health Organization finds the outbreak of Ebola in DR Congo a global emergency even though several Ebola cases are lowered in recent days. Ebola outbreak is also considered as an international emergency.

The director-general of World Health Organizations, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, finds that the Ebola cases that we find are very dangerous and every case should be treated with much care and attention. Every new case should be considered as it’s the first case. A single case has the potential to produce a large outbreak.

Dr. Jean-Jacques Muyembe found that Ad26-ZEBOV-GP is a second Ebola vaccine that will be used by the doctors to treat the Ebola-infected cases. This vaccine has been manufactured by Johnson & Johnson’s Belgian subsidiary. If the vaccine shows good signs it will be distributed to both western provinces South Kivu and Ituri. But this vaccine was rejected by the former health minister of DRC, Oly Ilunga.

WHO finds that they have better tools to treat the Ebola epidemics if compared with the old and previous Ebola epidemics cures. But still, the number of Ebola cases is continuously increasing. More than three thousand cases of Ebola are found and about two thousand of them have died.

UN health agency finds that no doubt the efforts taken to eradicate the Ebola virus from the Democratic Republic of Congo are successful but now it’s necessary to kill the virus that is the actual cause of Ebola.

One of the main reasons for the Ebola virus outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo is the widespread of violence that causes the access of the population of many areas difficult to the newly coming vaccines or tools or techniques are being used to treat the cases of Ebola virus. WHO hopes to manufacture the more useful vaccine against the Ebola virus in the future.
