Premier Medical Lab Validated to test Coronavirus in South Carolina Communities

Premier Medical Laboratory Services (PMLS) is a top-class diagnostic laboratory in South Carolina, making it an authentic and validated place for coronavirus testing. It has recently increased its capacity of testing people from 1,000 diagnostic tests daily to 28,000 every week in the coming weeks.

This testing facility is now available for all hospitals and clinics to get their patients tested. The test is offered by Premier Medical Laboratory Services (PMLS) is designed as per guidelines issued by CDC under Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) by the FDA.

Premier Medical Laboratory Services (PMLS) works to facilitate all medical practitioners and hospitals by providing them meaningful laboratory tests. It offers a number of testing services some of which are unique within their capacity such as Diabetes type 2 molecular predisposition test, advanced cardiovascular test in a patient, hereditary cancer’s screening in patients, all carrier screenings, women’s specific tests, pharmacogenomics, allergy tests, all blood tests, Hepatitis diagnostic testing and genotyping, respiratory and gastrointestinal testing for respective pathogens.

This diagnostic lab is developed at 40,000 square feet area which is developed and regulated under COLA and CLIA. This molecular diagnostic testing facility provides a result within 24 – 48 hours after giving the lab receipt of sample taking. Any extension in the result is also possible due to the high number of cases. The PMLS has its quick diagnosis and returning of the capacity of the result by using OnGen which is a new and innovative cloud-based lab testing and information system.

This “Laboratory Information System” (LIS) works by taking testing samples and enter/communicate them to the lab directly. The quick diagnosis of coronavirus in patients would help in finding further treatment options, as per the stage of the infection and health status of the patient.

Kevin Murdock is the Founder of this Premier Medical Laboratory Services in South Carolina. He says;  “We are proud of our team for working diligently around the clock so that we could attain validation status and increase access to testing, which is urgent at this time.”

He further adds; “Our lab is at the forefront of the most advanced technology and science available, providing cutting edge diagnostics to help flatten the curve of this global pandemic.”

US Food and Drug Development Authority (FDA) has recently given a statement that the rapid diagnosis of coronavirus in the US needs all diagnostic tools and kits available. Only with an ensured availability of such diagnostic tools, taking control over coronavirus cases could be possible.

The World Health Organization suggests every suspected patient be tested for coronavirus these days. Director-General, World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus says;

“We have not seen an urgent enough escalation in testing, isolation, and contact tracing, which is the backbone of the response.”

This coronavirus testing is performed under the “comprehensive respiratory pathogen testing” at Premier Medical Laboratory Services (PMLS). This test is developed for people exhibiting some or all signs of coronavirus infection. Sometimes this virus could be asymptomatic but still exists inside a patient as a co-infection.

The results from this test would provide all necessary information, a complete report on one or all pathogens causing a disease in a patient. It would allow the healthcare officer to decide the most suitable treatment plan and care for the patient, which could ease his symptoms.
