The Allergan Foundation Completes $95 Million Donation In 21 Years Of Its Inception

The Allergan Foundation has donated $10 million in 2019 as multiple charitable grants, says the announcement made today by Allergan plc. This grant was awarded to more than 400 different organizations in 32 states. This grant is a part of The Allergan Foundation’s commitment to put all efforts in providing a long term positive impact in Allergan employees communities.

The amount donated in 2019 makes total donations of The Allergan Foundation in 21 years of its service to be $95 million approximately. From which, nearly $45 million are collected between 2015 to date.

Brent Saunders is the chairman of The Allergan Foundation as well as Allergan PLC’s CEO. He shares that;

“We at The Allergan Foundation are honored and proud to offer our support to the many organizations striving to make a difference in the health and wellbeing of our communities. We are privileged to work closely with many of these organizations whose missions are focused on Allergan’s key therapeutic areas including eye care, central nervous system, breast health, and gastroenterology. We are delighted to contribute to their resources for improving patient treatment and care.”

Alex Kelly serves as President at The Allergan Foundation and also as Executive Vice President of Corporate Affairs at Allergan PLC. He says;

It supports numerous programs mainly on healthcare that includes diagnosis, treatment, patient care and overall improving quality of life. The foundation started its work in 1998 and ever since it has been working to serve the Allergan community at best. Till the date, it has donated nearly $95 million globally which shows its success in this mission.

The 2019 grants by The Allergan Foundation’s 2019 mainly supported the following.

Eye health care- it includes medical research grants to “American Glaucoma Society”, “American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery Foundation”, “Helen Keller International”, “Foundation Fighting Blindness” and “Blind Children’s Learning Center of Orange County”.

Gastroenterology grant- the grant made to “American Liver Foundation”, “American Gastroenterological Association”, Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation’s Camp Oasis” and lastly “American College of Gastroenterology”

Central Nervous System (CNS)– the grant to for treatment initiatives was donated to the “Migraine Research Foundation”, “Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance”, “Alzheimer’s Los Angeles’ Dementia Health Care Initiative” and “Dystonia Medical Research Foundation”.

Mental Health- the mental heath support programs grant was given to “The Jed Foundation Campus Program”, “National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)”, “American Foundation for Suicide Prevention”, “The Trevor Project and Mental Health America”.

Local community support-  donations made to “Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County”, “Emilio Nares Foundation”, “Community Food Bank of New Jersey”, “Community Hope”, “Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Texas”, “Helmets of Love, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington” and “the American Red Cross”.
